CWG STATEMENT ON TODAY'S CHEMICAL INCIDENT
The chemical incident that occurred today at CWG's Wilbur Place facility was caused by the accidental mixture of a cleaning chemical with another agent, and subsequently resulted in the release of fumes. These fumes made some employees feel nauseous, dizzy and short of breath, at which time, CWG immediately contacted the authorities and evacuated the building. All employees who felt ill were examined, treated and released from area hospitals, with only mild symptoms or minor complaints.
We have worked diligently to cooperate with all authorities, follow all appropriate safety code in our clean up efforts, and ensure the facility is safe for employee return. The facility will remain closed this evening, but is expected to reopen at midday tomorrow.
We wish to thank all the responding Departments for their efforts today, and the exceptional employees at CWG today, whose collective response to the accident was quick, professional, and most importantly, thoughtful.
