20 Churchill Place

20 Churchill Place

CWG is bringing forward proposals to revitalise 20 Churchill Place, creating a modern, sustainable workplace while enhancing the surrounding public realm. The proposals form part of CWG’s wider vision to create a more inclusive, connected and vibrant mixed-use neighbourhood that supports people living, working and visiting Canary Wharf.

Our proposals will modernise one of Canary Wharf’s first-generation office buildings while improving its relationship with the surrounding streets and public spaces. By introducing new active ground-floor uses, enhanced landscaping and improved pedestrian connections, the proposals will help transform 20 Churchill Place into a welcoming destination that contributes to Canary Wharf’s evolution as a thriving 24/7 neighbourhood.

Key changes to the building include:
  • Creating a new entrance plaza with improved landscaping, seating and pedestrian-friendly public realm.
  • Delivering a new building entrance that provides a more welcoming and accessible arrival experience.
  • Introducing new retail and food and beverage uses at ground floor to activate the streetscape throughout the day and evening.
  • Converting redundant plant space at Level 13 into high-quality office accommodation and creating a new landscaped terrace at Level 5 for occupiers.
  • Relocating the nearby bus stop to South Colonnade.

We are currently preparing a planning application for 20 Churchill Place to be submitted London Borough of Tower Hamlets following the completion of this public consultation.
