Tattu to bring culinary delights to Canary Wharf with a floating restaurant – 20.04.26

Tattu, Modern Chinese restaurant group, will be launching their second London restaurant this winter at 5 Water St, Canary Wharf. Following exponential global growth with a successful opening in Dubai at Ciel Tower and five locations in key UK cities, this new opening marks the latest chapter in Tattu’s carefully curated story.

Leading the culinary vision are Global Executive Chef Eugene Papadimitriou and Chef de Cuisine David Pang, who together bring a masterclass in Japanese and Chinese fusion. Papadimitriou, a veteran of the Tattu brand where he rose through the ranks to lead the London kitchen, balances the technical rigor of his Le Cordon Bleu training with a passion for pan-asian cooking. He is joined by Pang, whose 23-year international career includes prestigious roles at Rosewood and Hakkasan. Together, they will offer an exceptional blend of expertise and innovation to this new offering.

Led by Studio WYZE, the design for this new Canary Wharf destination draws inspiration from the historic floating restaurants of China, featuring a striking exterior of glowing lanterns and neon signage that reflects across the water. The interior will be organised into four distinct realms based on ancient maritime mythology. The double-height Grand Hall, representing the White Dragon, will serve as the primary dining space with light timber, purple lacquer, and a glowing onyx sushi counter. This will flow into the Red Dragon cocktail bar, defined by dragon-scale arches and ribbed red wall-coverings. Above, the Black Dragon mezzanine will offer an intimate environment of ebony and gold, while the Azure Dragon private dining room will feature an undulating ceiling designed to evoke both scales and open water.

Stuart Fyfe, Managing Director for retail, leisure and hospitality at CWG, said: “Tattu, owned by Permanently Unique are a hugely sought after brand internationally, who continue to make a statement wherever they open. Permanently Unique choosing Canary Wharf for their third London restaurant is a real statement of confidence in what we’ve built here. This is a brand that could have gone anywhere in London, and they chose here. Canary Wharf is fast becoming one of the most exciting dining and leisure destinations in London with more than 80 cafes, bars, and restaurants catering for visitors, workers and residents and we’re excited to see Tattu open later this year.”

Footfall at Canary Wharf continues to grow with the first quarter (first 14 weeks) already outperforming 2025 by 8%. In 2025 more than 76 million visitors came to the Wharf, a 5.4% increase on 2024 whilst occupancy remains strong at 98%.
